Important DC matters

Tonight I had a mission & a map: find the D.C. bar with 1,000 beers on the menu, aka Brickskeller. SH wanted a swim and a steak. It didn't take me long to persuade him to join me in finding the bar. We were successful. SH and I sat and were very indecisive, as you can imagine with 1,000 choices in front of you. We finally made some choices which resulted in fabulous beer, reminiscing, and pub food. It was a good time. I started with a draft and despite a giant list of bottled beers, I stuck with drafts. Too much was drunk (well, duh). And this resulted in getting lost, finding a bookstore/restaurant/bar/coffee place where lots of laughs were had over the book All About Scabs. A book I probably could have benefited from when I was a child. We ended up buying a picture book introduction to semiotics. We are going to send it to Luis.

Note: We ended up finding more than just the pub. It was a dive place complete with a mouse seen by SH & while lost we saw some architecturally gorgeous houses. Will have to visit DC again when sober.

Heat Storms

Irony: It's been raining for an hour and a half while you are eating dinner. When it comes time to walk back to the hotel you are staying in, there is no sign of a taxi and no sign of the rain stopping so you buy an umbrella from a waiter at the restaurant for $2.00. As soon as you have the umbrella and he his $2. the downpour stops.
