2007 or 1997?

The delectable cream puffs that were served at our annual work Christmas party.

At first Doug and I thought it said 1997, which made it really funny. Then Sharon mentioned that the date was really 2007, not so funny.

In the dark
I see things
Shadows that don’t exist
But in my mind they are real
As real as me standing here today
The shadows move
In the darkness
Sneaking
Hiding
Toying with my eyes
Are they real?
Am I real?
The shadows emerge when I least expect them
Scaring me
I doubt myself
I doubt my sight
The images I see can't be real
But then why do I see them
Sneaking
Hiding
Lurking in the dark
Waiting
For me
To see them
And question myself
And everything I know.

Last night was the first night of electric Foil fencing!!

It ruled!

We had a crash course in parry-ing and remise and then went on to bout.
I was a little nervous at first, I was the first one to bout, and I kept trying to strategize in my head what I was going to do next and how I should attack but during my second round I was not thinking of my next move, I was just reacting to the situation and trying to switch it up as much as I could without it being too obvious. I fenced this older man during my second round and that was fun. He was pretty good and not afraid to just go in and touch me. I know that sounds wrong, but that's what it's called when one opponent hits the other with the Foil in the target area, a touch. Time flew by while I was fencing during the second round and I got really sweaty really quickly; it was great.

Our team didn't win, but we did make one hell of a comeback!

So basically, I love it. And am going to sign up for the next set of classes. :)
