So I've received the verbal interpretation:
"I was sitting in the office of the head of police talking about Faulkner, and Steinbeck and Ginsberg and all about American Culture when all of a sudden I heard this blood curdling scream that pained the ears and pained the heart knowing this treacherous noise was coming from another human being. I could not handle the noise, so loud, and so painful. The police officer said 'excuse me' stood up, walked over to the window and closed it. And that noise was the sound of people being tortured in the basement."
And I've received the artistic interpretation:
"Walk to the highest point you can find and look out over the city at sunset and see the whitewashed houses built into the cliffs with these steep stairs each of which has a brightly colored hand painted clay flowerpot filled with local wildflowers and look out at the sea which is a color of blue that you will have never laid your eyes on before. And you will just lose your breathe."
I do not know what to think.
